Axiologik is proud to announce our continued commitment to environmental sustainability as we prepare to celebrate Great Big Green Week, taking place from June 7th to 15th.
The UK’s largest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature, Big Green Week, offers an opportunity to turn awareness into tangible impact, a mission that Axiologik fully embraces.
Spearheaded by Louise Friskey and her dedicated Green Team: Cat Hardy, Stephen Hancock, and Rae Evans. The initiative is part of Axiologik’s broader environmental strategy, which includes a pledge to reduce carbon emissions by 20% year-on-year and reach Net Zero by 2031.
"Great Big Green Week is a brilliant opportunity for us to turn environmental awareness into meaningful action,” said Louise Friskey, who leads the company’s sustainability efforts.
“It’s a chance to showcase our commitment to sustainability while inspiring each other to take positive steps toward a greener future. We’re encouraging everyone across the business to get involved, learn something new, and enjoy the creative, hands-on activities and initiatives taking place throughout the week.”
Axiologik’s Green Impact: By the Numbers
In 2023, Axiologik implemented a Carbon Reduction Plan comprising 27 actionable initiatives. By the end of the year:
- 23 of 27 initiatives had measurable action taken
- 11 initiatives fully completed
- Axiologik saw a carbon emissions reduction from 155.32 tCO2e in 2024 to 80.11 tCO2e in 2025 – a 34% decrease
This strong performance highlights Axiologik’s dedication not just to setting goals but to achieving and exceeding them.
Volunteering and Community Engagement
Axiologik’s environmental efforts go hand-in-hand with its social responsibility agenda. As an organisation, we continue to support FareShare Yorkshire, a leading UK charity that redistributes surplus food to communities in need. As part of our employee volunteer programme, which offers four paid volunteer days per year, Axiologik team members contributed over 300 hours to FareShare last year, picking, packing, and delivering food across Yorkshire to food banks, schools, and charities.
2025 Activities: Swapping for a Greener Future
This year’s Big Green Week at Axiologik is themed around “Swaps for Good”, encouraging small, everyday changes that collectively make a significant impact.
Activities include:
Charity Drop-Off Station: Bring in unwanted clothes, books, and kitchenware for donation to St Martin’s House
Terrarium Workshop: A hands-on session on Thursday, June 5th, exploring how indoor plants can improve air quality and wellbeing
Green Parking Donations: Team members have been asked to donate £5 to Love Leeds Parks for each day they use the car park during Great Big Green Week.
Axiologik is also continuing to promote greener practices within the workplace. Our waste management provider, B&M, is a certified Carbon Neutral Organisation, and through Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), only 1% of our waste now goes to landfill, with the remainder used to generate energy. We’ve also introduced a battery recycling station and implemented water-saving measures, including motion-sensor controls in the gents' toilets.
These efforts build on the success of Big Green Week 2024, where we championed public transport use, launched a Carbon Footprint Calculator, and delivered a series of ESG-themed learning sessions to engage and educate our team.
As Axiologik continues to grow, sustainability remains a pillar of its business strategy, encompassing everything from carbon reduction to community impact. The company is building a future its team is proud to pass on, driven by practical action, inclusive engagement, and long-term thinking.
