Yorkshire tech alliance launches cyber assessment service as legislative countdown begins

Two Leeds-based technology companies have joined forces to help organisations strengthen their cyber resilience, following a record year of cyber-attacks and unprecedented demand for cyber support.

Digital consultancy Axiologik and cyber security specialist Precursor Security both saw a sharp growth in demand for their cyber services in 2025 as organisations sought to strengthen their defences. Axiologik reported a 600% increase in cyber consulting work in 2025 compared to 2024, while Precursor Security saw a 50% revenue increase over the same period - growth that outstrips almost every other industry.

In response, the companies have now launched a cyber risk and resilience assessment service that identifies an organisation’s most significant cyber risks, prioritises the actions needed to address them, and assesses organisational ability to recover from major cyber events.

The assessment, AxioSECURE, combines strategic and technical analysis with proactive offensive security testing to assess risk and resilience across people, process and technology. This includes assessing risks introduced by suppliers, partners and third-party software - an increasingly critical area of exposure for many organisations.

It also comes ahead of major new UK legislation due to come into force in 2026. The Cyber Security and Resilience Bill – which is currently progressing through Parliament - will introduce mandatory minimum security requirements for organisations deemed critical to the economy and public services, including sectors such as healthcare, utilities and transport. Once enacted, affected organisations will be legally required to demonstrate appropriate cyber risk management and resilience capabilities.

The AxioSECURE assessment typically takes four-to-six weeks. It includes external attack surface mapping, coupled with assessment of internal controls and targeted threat intelligence to determine risk to major cyber threat scenarios. It also provides action plans to reduce risk and improve resilience in short and medium terms, as well as real-world incident response rehearsal.

Ben Davison, co-founder and director of Axiologik, comments:

“The cyber security landscape is complex and constantly evolving. Our assessment tools are designed to cut through that and give organisations clear, practical insights into where they are exposed and what they need to do next. Last year’s high-profile attacks have shown that even organisations who have already invested heavily in cyber security can be caught out, particularly where they have failed to fully consider third-party breaches, which are one of the biggest overlooked risks.

“There are very few assessments that combine deep technical cyber expertise with the strategic perspectives needed to assess risk holistically across today’s modern, complex enterprises. In partnering with Precursor we believe we’re offering something genuinely different – support that helps organisations not just understand their risk, but actually take action.

“Incoming legislation is going to make cyber resilience a legal requirement for many organisations, but it should be deemed essential work for every organisation, regardless of whether they fall within the scope of the new Bill.”
